This simple prayer walk plan is designed to help our church pray over nearby neighborhoods without feeling overwhelming or complicated. The goal is presence, prayer, and obedience—not perfection. This is not about doing everything right. It’s about showing up, praying faithfully, and trusting God to work in ways we may never see.

 Purpose

A prayer walk is simply walking through our community and praying for the people who live there. We are asking God to bring peace, healing, and openness to the message of Jesus in the neighborhoods around our church.

  • Choose one date and time (60–90 minutes total)

  • Meet at the church or community location

  • Walk neighborhoods closest to the church building

  • Wear comfortable shoes

  • Dress for the weather

  • Bring a willing heart

  • No experience necessary

Process and Flow

  1. Gather at the church for a short prayer and instructions

  2. Break into small groups of 2–4 people

  3. Walk nearby streets and pray quietly or together

  4. Return to the church to briefly share and close in prayer

  • Families and homes

  • Children and schools

  • Marriages and relationships

  • Peace, healing, and hope

  • Open hearts to Jesus

Interacting With Others (Optional)

If you see someone outside, a simple smile or greeting is enough. If appropriate, you may say:
“We’re from (Local Church) and are out walking and praying for our community today—do you have any needs we can pray for?”
If they say no, simply thank them and continue walking.

After the Walk

  • Gather back together

  • Share brief highlights

  • Thank God for what He did

  • Encourage continued prayer for the community
