Who We Are
One Voice Chesterfield County (1VCC) is a loosely knit network of pastors who live and serve in Chesterfield County, VA. We respect each participating pastor’s faith tradition while recognizing that our primary unity is formed by our new covenant bond through faith in Jesus Christ.
Together, we seek to touch Chesterfield County for the glory of God and the good of humanity. This we do through prayer, mutual support, and whatever other means our Lord calls us to.
The signs of our times proclaim that we live in the last days of human history. These are days of rapid change, cultural upheaval, and various natural disasters. Regardless of the causes, we believe that the Lord is using these factors to
prepare for a great harvest of souls. But only a unified body of Christ can fulfill the extensive mission to which He has called us.
Our Purpose
MISSION STATEMENT: One Voice CC seeks to advance God’s kingdom in Chesterfield County and beyond through unified prayer and service to the Lord. We are part of many streams coming together that make glad the city of God, bringing spiritual life to a dying world. (Psalm 46:4, Psalm 133)
The One Voice CC pastors’ group meets monthly for about 90 minutes.
Our specific purposes for meeting together are:
To establish trust.
To build and strengthen multi-cultural Christian relationships that support and encourage one another, corporately and individually.
To advance God’s kingdom on earth by planning prayer meetings and other joint activities.
To pray together for our community and our area.
Joint community prayer meetings are usually held at participating churches and are open to all who desire to see God’s kingdom prosper in Chesterfield County and the surrounding area.
Core Values
Prayer Is Our Priority
While there are many good and viable endeavors that we could set our hands to, we seek to maintain a primary focus on prayer.
A Kingdom Mindset
While our One Voice CC members serve as stewards over the ministries given to them by God, our greater and higher purpose is to serve the kingdom of God above our individual ministries.
A Gospel of the Bible, Not Politics
We recognize the value and importance of political involvement, but endeavor to proclaim the good news of God’s kingdom through a Biblical, non-partisan mindset.
Unity, Not Uniformity
Our unity is Christ-centered through the new covenant. This means we are bound together by a mutual love for the Lord and for one another, not by our sameness.
A Local Church Emphasis
The local church is God’s ordained body for Christian development, and the primary driving force to fulfill the Great Commission. We do not supersede the local church, but seek to encourage and strengthen local pastors while helping to catalyze their congregations for prayer.
Humble Servanthood
In all that we do, we seek to maintain the attitude of humble and broken servants.
Structured but Flexible
We seek to maintain enough structure to keep our organization viable and effective, while always remaining open to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible (Scripture) to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
We believe in the Trinity as eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 13:14)
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth and sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious death and atonement through His shed Blood, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father as both the High Priest and sacrificial Lamb of God. (1 Cor. 15:3-5— see also Lk. 1:26-35; Acts 10:38; Rom. 3:25-26; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 1:1-8, 4:15)
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, self-effort is futile and, thus, cleansing by the blood of Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential. (Acts 4:12; Eph. 1:7-8a, 2:8-9; Tit. 3:4-7)
We believe God created humans male and female, and marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a sacred covenant. Any sexual activity outside this boundary is forbidden by Scripture. (Gen. 1:27, 2:24; Mat. 19:4-6; 1 Cor. 6:18; Heb. 13:4; Lev.18:1-30)
